Act 2 Inspire Drama Workshops

At Act2inspire we are passionate about drama in education and using creativity to unlock the imagination of children of all ages. We provide high quality, exciting and engaging workshops for young people. Trusted by schools, we have built up a fantastic school base across the North West delivering a range of interactive workshops that focus on expressive arts at the core of learning. Act2Inspire workshops are the perfect accompaniment for your schools curriculum.

All Act2Inspire workshops can be tailored to meet your school needs and can be delivered and executed to meet your requirements. An exciting element of Act2Inspire is creating brand new workshops catering to and complimenting your curriculum with a new dramatic platform to engage and inspire young minds.

Workshops can be fitted around you: Full Day Workshops, Half Day Workshops, Weekly Sessions, PPA Cover, After School Sessions.

KS1

Our popular Key Stage 1 workshops spark imaginations and stimulate young minds. As well as being fun and exciting for children to experience, our workshops help to develop communication skills, encouraging positive social interaction and allow children to listen and respond appropriately.

Happy young Minds
Happy Young minds is an interactive and engaging drama workshop, tailored to promoting and protecting young minds. Using a range of techniques including role play, physical theatre and improvisation, the workshops, provide a fun and engaging way of learning whilst improving student wellbeing and self-confidence.

In the current climate, it is more important now more than ever, to support children’s health and wellbeing. Our workshops will allow children to explore their feelings and express themselves in a safe environment.

Our workshops use a variety of powerful drama techniques which will enrich the children’s learning. Our work with Key Stage one centres around ‘Mr Bumble’s Magnificent Toyshop’, a story specially written for this project by programme leader Rebecca McGowan. The story highlights the importance of friendship and self-worth. During the workshop children will participate in a range of drama activities including role play, freeze frame, movement & physical theatre to explore the themes around friendship and working together. Music, props, puppets, pictures and dialogue will be used to enrich the students learning in a safe and relaxed environment.

KS2

Our KS2 workshops can enrich your schools curriculum and excite learners through the wonderful medium of drama. Below are examples of workshops we offer, however if you have something specific in mind, we can create bespoke workshops especially for your school.

Meet the Bard
Introduce your children to the wonderful work of William Shakespeare through our engaging and interactive ‘Meet the Bard’ workshops. We will explore the stories, characters and themes behind some of his most famous works including Macbeth, A Mid Summer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet and the Tempest. Workshops can be run through a set of weekly sessions or as a one day workshop. Students will end with a high quality performance. We will work with your school to choose the best delivery option.

The Wonderful Works of Roald Dahl
Our exciting workshops take a look at the wonderful stories and poems by the world famous author.

Exploration of Poetry
Our poetry workshops bring classic and modern poems to life. Children will use a range of drama activities to explore the story, the characters and themes of the poems:

A special series of workshops to explore and celebrate our British Values.
Children will explore and develop their understanding of the five British Values of Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect, and tolerance in our fun and engaging workshops using a range of exciting drama techniques.

The British Values workshops work best as twelve weekly hour long sessions finishing with a powerful final performance, however the delivery can be adapted to suit your school.

Happy Young Minds

Lower Key Stage 2
Children will use a range of powerful drama techniques in activities based around the themes taken from the wonderful story, ‘The Tell Me Tree’ by Karen Inglis. The workshop is fun and engaging and allows children to express their feelings, emotions and actions whilst boosting their creativity and self-esteem.

Upper Key Stage 2
Using a range of drama activities incorporating improvisation, physical theatre and imaginative games, the children will explore their feelings and sense of well-being as they look to the future. The workshops will highlight the importance of teamwork and working together, problem solving and seeing situations through eyes of others.
